Cork was developed as a bottle closure in the late 17th century. It was only after this that bottles were lain down for aging, and the bottle shapes slowly changed from short and bulbous to tall and slender.

  • From Eastern New York: From I-90 (N.Y.S. Thruway), take exit 42 and follow Route 14 South 7 miles through Geneva, NY and about 15 miles further South on Route 14. Take Route 54 West 4 miles to Penn Yan, then South 3 miles to Keuka spring Vineyards.

  • From Western New York: Take I-90 (N.Y.S. Thruway) to exit 44 (Canandaigua). Follow Route 332 South through Canandaigua and turn left onto Routes 5 & 20 East. Go about 3 miles and turn right onto Route 247. Follow route 247 South about 10 miles. It merges with Route 364 East. Follow that about 5 miles East. Turn right onto Guyanoga Valley Road (County Road 402). Follow Hunt Country signs 7 miles to Branchport. Turn right at blinker light, then go 1 mile up the hill to the winery.
     
  • From South: Take US Route 17 to either exits 38 or 39 in Bath, NY and follow Highway 54 North to Hammondsport.
