Ingredients
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 cup granulated yellow corn meal
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1 tbsp butter, melted
  • 3/4 tsp salt
Directions
  1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees.
  2. Mix sugar with beaten eggs.
  3. Sift flour, corn meal, baking powder and salt together.
  4. Add melted butter and milk. (ed: If using 2% milk, add ½ Tbsp. extra butter.)
  5. Beat up quickly and bake in large buttered pan in a very hot oven for 20 minutes.  This makes one large pan that can be cut into 21 squares.
  6. Serve and enjoy with a glass of Hunt Country Pearl or Chardonnay (whites), or if you prefer reds, Hunt Country Classic Red or Alchemy.
